We would like to introduce you to Salem. He came to us through Hope for Paws who rescued him off the streets of Los Angeles where he had been living by himself behind a dentist's office for over a month. He had an old injury -- a broken front leg -- and Hope for Paws had surgery done hoping to save the leg. There was some uncertainty about how the leg was healing and a possibility for amputation. But we received GOOD NEWS from our veterinarian yesterday! The leg is healing and Salem had his cast taken off! He is one happy cat now. He walked around his enclosure yesterday, giving his leg (which is a little thin looking after so many weeks in a cast but it will look better soon!) a test, experimenting with walking on it, and he was successful. He even tried out a few of the toys in the enclosure!
We know Salem’s leg is going to get stronger every day now and we feel he is ready to go to a new permanent, loving home. He is such a handsome and sweet, loving cat. He loves loves loves to be petted and shows it by loudly purring and head butting you. and we know he will be some lucky person’s best friend forever. He is around 5 years old, is neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date.
